HARRISBURG – The Huron Tigers girls’ tennis team swept a pair of matches Friday in Harrisburg against Harrisburg and Lennox.

AnneClaire Rubish, Say Glay, Ann Hoek, Idella Meyer, and Madeline Kleinsasser each came away with a pair of victories on the day, while Glay and Paw Kler Moo combined for a pair of doubles wins.

Rubish won both of her No. 1 singles matches, defeating Mckenzie Vickery of Harrisburg 10-7 and Madison Buehner of Lennox 10-2. Glay defeated Harrisburg’s Maddy Von Wald 10-7 and Lennox’s Grace Dressen 10-1 in No. 2 singles.

Hoek swept Jessi Muth of Harrisburg and Brooke Buehner of Lennox in No. 3 singles by scores of 10-3 and 10-6. Kleinsasser earned a 10-7 victory over Hannah Frye of Harrisburg in No. 5 singles and also defeated Lennox’s Miriam Welch 10-2. Meyer eeked out a win in No. 6 singles over Harrisburg’s Laney Christensen 10-9, winning the tiebreaker 7-4. She also defeated Kenzie Gilland of Lennox 10-0.

Glay/Moo swept to two wins in No. 2 doubles. Against Harrisburg, they defeated Jessi Muth and Noa Lovro 10-9, taking the tiebreaker by the score of 7-2. The duo defeated Brooke Buehner and Mary Wallenstein 10-4.

In Junior Varsity matches, Blue Shee scored a pair of wins.

Huron (3-1) will participate in a triangular with Pierre and Spearfish in Pierre today.
