Redfield golfers eighth in Volga

VOLGA — The Redfield boys’ golf team was eighth at the Sioux Valley Invite on Monday.

Sioux Valley Blue won the 8-team event with a 318, while Aberdeen Roncalli was three strokes back in second.

Groton used a 322 to finish a point behind Aberdeen Roncalli, while Mibank was fourth at 326 and Madison was fifth at 345.

The Pheasants turned in a score of 386.

Tate Steffensen of Sioux Valley Blue was the individual medalist with a 70, while teammate Jameson Degen was fourth at 75.

Jonathon DeBoer of Milbank was second at 72, while Braylon Oftedal of Madison was third at 74. Brevin Fliehs of Groton earned the final spot in the top five with a 76.

Micah Zastrow led Redfield with an 88, which put in spot No. 21 in the 52-golfer field. Connor Zens carded a 94 for the Pheasants to finish 29th, while Collin Dean shot a 103 to finish 41st.

Jackson Rude and Grady Hulshwer had scores of 112 and 129, respectively, for Redfield.

The Pheasants will play at the Milbank Invitational on Thursday.
