Tigers stretch win steak to seven

SIOUX FALLS — The Huron girls’ tennis team extended its winning streak to seven with a pair of victories on Monday.

The first of the two victories came against the defending Class A state champions. The Tigers edged Sioux Falls Christian 5-4.

“It was a great win against Sioux Falls Christian,” Huron coach Rachel Kary said.

Winning singles matches for the Tigers were AnneClaire Rubish at No. 1, Say Glay at No. 2 and Madeline Kleinsasser at No. 5.

Glay and Paw Kler Moo combined for a win in No. 2 doubles for Huron, while Kleinsasser and Idella Meyer won in No. 3 doubles.

The Tigers ended the day with a 9-0 victory against Milbank to improve to 7-1.

Huron will make its home debut with a 4 p.m., match against Rapid City Christian at Huron Courts on Thursday.
