Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central 29, Wagner 13
WAGNER The fourth-ranked Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Blackhawks followed a strong defensive effort on the road to defeat the Wagner Red Raiders 29-13 Friday in Wagner.

The Blackhawks move to 4-1 as Colby Flowers led the defense with 8 1/2 tackles. Sam Poncelow had an interception and blocked a punt while Grant Edwards also picked off a pass.

Flowers led the Blackhawk receivers with five catches for 86 yards and a touchdown. Holden Havlik was 14 of 24 passing on the night, with one touchdown and one interception.

Bryce Larson toted the ball five times for 36 yards and a touchdown to lead the Blackhawk rushing attack. Tyson Eddy ran seven times for 29 yards and a touchdown while Hayes Havlik ran six times for 30 yards.

No individual statistics were available for Wagner, who falls to 2-4.

The Blackhawks will host Miller/Highmore-Harrold in Wessington Springs Friday.

Wolsey-Wessington 52, Gregory 12
WOLSEY The fourth-ranked Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds remained undefeated at 5-0 with a 52-12 victory over the Gregory Gorillas on Friday in Wolsey.

Caleb Richmond had a big game for the Warbirds, who rolled up 537 yards on offense, throwing for 94 yards and three touchdowns on 6 of 7 passing with one interception while also running for 204 yards on 12 carries and scoring two touchdowns.

Cooper Timm ran for 115 yards on 13 carries for W-W. Peyton Rainford carried the ball six times for 64 yards and a score.

Moshe Richmond ran four times for 29 yards and a score while snagging six receptions for 62 yards and two touchdowns.

Larz Tvedt grabbed an 8-yard touchdown.

The Warbirds will host Bon Homme on Friday.

Clark/Willow Lake 43, Groton 7
CLARK – The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones used a 21-point outburst in the first quarter to distance themselves from the Groton Area Tigers en route to a 43-7 homecoming victory romp on Friday in Clark.

The win moves the Cyclones to 4-1 on the season behind 345 yards of total offense, including 202 on the ground. Griff Musser led the diverse rushing attack for CWL with eight carries for 55 yards and a touchdown. Ernie Garcia had 10 carries for 50 yards and a score. He also put through five extra point kicks on the night.

Emmerson Larson threw for 125 yards on 7 of 16 passing with two touchdowns. He also ran for 47 yards on 13 carries. Josh Kannegieter was Larsons top target, grabbing four receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown. Lincoln Reidburn had two catches for 61 yards, including a 55-yard pitch-and-catch touchdown in the second quarter.

Reidburn led the Cyclone defense with an interception return for a touchdown in what was termed a whole team effort.

The Tigers fall to 3-2. Korbin Kucker ran 11 times for 26 yards and scored the Tigers only touchdown.

Clark/Willow Lake will host Deuel on Friday in Clark.
