Buchanan K-1
First graders at Buchanan K-1 Center in Ms. Ness, Mrs.Lindblad, Mrs. Boomsma, Mrs. Small and Mrs. Korkows classes have been busy learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin, American symbols and learning about rights and responsibilities as an American citizen which includes voting.
All of first grade is planning a fun Literacy Day filled with reading and writing activities centered on the book Turkey Trouble towards the end of the month. Activities range from sequencing the story, writing how to cook the perfect Thanksgiving turkey, and how to disguise him from being the main course. Students will enjoy a treat at the end of the day based on the books surprise ending! This is always an exciting day for first grade!
We have enjoyed the new weekly visitors on Friendly Fridays where Tiger sports teams and community members come to greet our students and wish them a happy Friday!
