Wessington Springs 61, Wolsey-Wessington 37
MADISON – The Wessington Springs Spartans led a tight ballgame at halftime, but then blew open the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds 20-8 on the way to a 61-37 victory Saturday at Dakota State University in Madison.

The Spartans move to 20-2 behind 23 points and 10 rebounds from Colby Flowers. Ryder Michalek and Karter Mebius each had 12 points.

The Warbirds finish the year at 17-5. Moshe Richmond was the lone W-W player in double figures. He was one of three Warbirds with six rebounds.

The Spartans will be the fourth seed in the SoDak 16 on Tuesday and will face Timber Lake.

WILLOW LAKE – The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones used a big fourth quarter to put away a 65-43 victory over the Deuel Cardinals in Region 2A action Saturday in Willow Lake.

The Cyclones had four players in double figures, led by Chris Bevers with 18 points. Bo Begeman had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Sully Felberg netted 14 points and Emmerson Larson contributed 10 points for Clark/Willow Lake, now 17-4.

The Cardinals finish the year at 15-7. Jaxon Peterreins scored 10 points and Gabe Sather had seven rebounds.

The Cyclones qualify for the SoDak 16 as the sixth seed and will face St. Francis Indian School on Tuesday.

MADISON – The De Smet Bulldogs played a tremendous game but came up just short in overtime against the top-seeded and second-ranked Castlewood Warriors in a Region 2B semifinal, 47-45, Saturday at Dakota State University in Madison.

Bulldogs coach Jeff Gruenhagen stated that he was proud of his teams effort all game long, hitting big shots throughout the game.

Castlewood moves to 20-2 behind 21 points from Jamison Keszler and 18 points and 16 rebounds from Bryan Laue.

De Smet had three players in double figures, led by Grant Wilkinson with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Slayten Wilkinson had 12 points and Noah Luethmers chipped in 10 points.
