Wagner presented 2025 Friends of Rodeo award

HURON For 35 years the Heartland 4-HRodeohas been a success due to allofthe families, supporters and sponsors in the community. They have honored someofthe best and have had a great opportunity to say thank you through theFriendsofRodeoAward.

This year they are honored to present the Friends of Rodeo Award to someone who not only was an original board member but has continued to support and be involved in the Heartland 4-H Rodeo in the years since.

Linda Wagner served as the first secretary of the Heartland 4-H Rodeo and played an integral part in building and funding the initial rodeo. She spent years as an officer of the association as well as rodeo secretary, fundraising, marketing and every aspect of behind the scenes. Since then, she has also helped with sponsorships and behind the scenes at the State 4-H Rodeo as well.

Wagner spent numerous years as a 4-H Leader, community leader and continues to work with the Huron Chamber Ag Committee and several other activities throughout the year.

She instilled the importance of being involved and working hard in her family and the 4-H kids she worked with through the years. Her kids and grandkids (Joy and Ben Meyer and kids William, Tate and Brady; Dena Barton and son Rylan; Audra and Wes Fergen and sons Eli and Hagen, Jay and Amanda Barton and kids Arraya, Paiton and Braxston) are still involved with the Heartland 4-H Rodeo and Linda continues to be involved as a timer annually.

The Heartland 4-HRodeois grateful for all the years Wagner has been a dedicated supporteroftherodeo. She is accepting the Wild Steer traveling bronze.

Last year the Heartland 4-H Rodeo had the privilege of recognizing Doris Mutchelknaus for all of the years of work and support she has put into the Heartland 4-H Rodeo and all the community activities she has supported. Although she was unable to be here this year, Doris will receive a plaque to commemorate this award from the Huron Sertoma.
