JVC boys, Highmore-Harrold girls win 281 Conference titles

WESSINGTON SPRINGS The James Valley Christian boys and the Highmore-Harrold girls won 281 Conference cross country championships on Wednesday.

JVC had three of the top seven runners in the varsity boys race, including race winner Kaden Ober, who turned in a time of 17:48.97.

Levi Crandall was fourth for the Vikings at 18:39.58, while Giddeon Waldner was seventh at 19:43.46.

Jackson Wolter of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was second at 18:23.46, while Reagan Sandness of Sunshine Bible Academy was third at 18:28.65. Jordan Erfman of Highmore-Harrold rounded out the top five with an 18-50>52.

Highmore-Harrold, which was second in the final standings at 20, had runners in spots No. 8-12. Sunshine Bible Academy was third at 27, followed by Sanborn Central/Woonsocket at 28 and Wolsey-Wessington at 54.

Highmore-Harrold had 15 points to edge James Valley Christian by a point for the girls title. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was fourth at 19 and Wessington Springs was fourth at 31.

Autumn Fallis of Highmore-Harrold won the varsity girls race in 20:15.56, while Emrie VonEye of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was second at 20:43.96. Kendal Uttecht of Wolsey-Wessington was third at 20:52.18, followed by James Valley Christian teammates Hadasah Olson and Micaiah Brantner at 22:47.90 and 23:10.90, respectively.
