HURON — James Valley Christain held o nfor a 63-57 victory against Iroquois/Lake Preston in a 281 Conference matchup on Saturday.

After leading 23-16 at the end of the opening quarter, James Valley Christian led 36-35 at the half. Iroquois/Lake Preston rallied in the third quarter to take a 48-47 lead heading into the final quarter.

Noah Fast had 19 points to lead three players in double figures for the Vikings, who improved to 8-5. Jayven Van Scharrel had 15 points and Noah Niederbaumer had 13 points.

Lucas Peskey had a game-high 25 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Iroquois/Lake Preston (5-9). Ervin Carter also reached double figures with 16 points.

MADISON — In a matchup between two of the top three Class A boys’ basketball teams in the state, second-ranked Sioux Falls Christian claimed a 72-61 victory against No. 3 Clark/Willow Lake during the Dak XII/NEC Clash on Saturday.

The Chargers, who improved to 11-1, led 17-10 after the opening quarter and build a 38-25 lead at the half.

Chris Bevers had 17 points to lead four players in double figures for the Clark/Willow Lake, which is now 13-2. Bo Begeman had 12 points, while Emerson Larson and Sully Felberg added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Bevers and Felberg each had six rebounds for the Cyclones.

Individual statistics were not available for Sioux Falls Christian.

Clark/Willow Lake travels to play Sisseton on Friday.

MADISON — Redfield earned its second win of the season on Saturday at the Dak XII/NEC Clash.

After holding a 21-13 lead at the end of the opening quarter, the Pheasants held on to a 38-36 advantage at the half. They led 55-47 heading into the final quarter, where they outscored Canton 27-17.

Eloi Carnicero had a game-high 29 points, seven assists and five steals to lead Redfield, which improved to 2-10. Grady Hulscher had 19 points and Micah Zastrow had 10 points and six rebounds.

Alex Rhead had 21 points to lead Canton, which is now 0-13. Noah Beatty had 12 points, while Jase Charrlin and Espn Anderson had nine and eight points, respectively.

Meister had seen rebounds, while Rhead and Beatty each had five assists.

IPSWICH — A strong start to the second half helped Ipswich to a 49-21 victory against Highmore-Harrold on Saturday.

After leading 24-14 at the break, the Tigers outscored Highmore-Harrold 18-2 in the third quarter to build a 42-16 lead.

Jaxon Holt had 15 points, all coming on 3-pointers, to lead Ipswich, which is now 7-5. Hayden Schlosserhad 14 points, including four 3-pointers, while Shay Knust had 10 points.

Schlosser also had a team-high six rebounds, while Knust had five assists. Kyle Hettich and Tage Hogie each had a pair of steals.

Highmore-Harrold was led by Jayden Erfman with nine points and Brooks McPeak with seven points.
Jordan Erfman had 10 rebounds for the Pirates, who are now 1-11. McPeak had four steals and three assists.

Highmore-Harrold returns to action Tuesday, when it hosts Sunshine Bible Academy in a 281 Conference matchup. Ipswich plays at Waverly-South Shore on Thursday.

Sawyer Nelson had 14 points to lead three players in double figures for Wolsey-Wessington, which is now 10-6. Larz Tvedt had 13 points, while Caleb Richmond had 10 points.

REDFIELD — Clark/Willow Lake, which is ranked No. 3 in Class A, cruised to an 84-28 victory against Redfield on Friday.

The Cyclones, who improved to 13-1, converted on 8 of 22 shots from 3-point range and had 12 different players reach the scoring column.

Chris Bevers had a game-high 19 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, for Clark/Willow Lake, while Emmerson Larson had 15 points and Sully Felberg had 10 points. Bo Begeman and Joey Ries each had eight points.

Bevers had a team-igh six rebounds for the Cyclones, while Larson had four steals.

Eloi Carnicero was the lone player to reach double figures for Redfield (1-10) with 11 points. Grady Hulscher had six points, while Eli Englund and Austin Snell each had four points.

Snell also had four rebounds for the Pheasants.

HURON — Iroquois/Lake Preston outscored Jeames Valley Christian 12-1 in the second quarter en route to a 37-28 victory in a 281 Conference matchup on Saturday.

JVC led 7-5 after the opening quarter, but trailed 17-8 at the half and 26-16 heading into the final quarter.

Khloe Olson had 11 points to lead the Sharks, who improved to 6-8. Bentlee Holt also reached double figures with 10 points, while Hadlee Holt added eight points.

Janiya Waldner had 17 points, included 10 free throws, to lead James Valley Christian, which is now 2-10. Addison Kleinsasser and Rylin Wipf had five and four points, respectively.
