CARPENTER –– Kent Waldner, age 77, of rural Carpenter, passed away peacefully at Huron Regional Medical Center, Friday, February 20, 2026.
His celebration of life will be held at the Kuhler Funeral Home Saturday, March 14, from 3 to 5 p.m. with a time of reflection at 5 p.m.
A private burial will be in the Prairie Bible Church Cemetery.
Kent Ray Waldner was born August 26, 1948, to Ted and Lily Waldner (Walter) in Huron. He grew up on the family farm near Carpenter, graduating from Doland High School in 1966.
After school he made his career out of truck driving, driving for many decades before retiring. He enjoyed visiting with many of his friends in the community. In later years he enjoyed riding in his tractor and putting up hay. He served in the South Dakota Army National Guard.
He has survived by his sister, Kerry Hanson (Cal) and their son, Mike (Bernadette) and their children, Ella and Max; one niece, Wendy Dafoe (Wayne) and their daughter, Ashley (Justin); one nephew, Craig Dahl (Heather) and their son, Jacob and their daughter, Emma (John).
He has preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Beverly Dahl and her husband, Roger; one niece, Lori Chambers; as well as many other family members.
