Destination Imagination is a global educational program that challenges students to work in teams to solve open-ended challenges in areas such as engineering, science, technology, improvisation, fine arts, and service learning. Teams spend months preparing their solutions and present them at tournaments, where they are also tested with an instant challenge that requires quick thinking and collaboration.
Next up for Huron Destination Imagination teams is the South Dakota State Destination Imagination Tournament, which will take place on Saturday, March 28, in Pierre. Teams advancing from the regional tournament will compete with the top teams from across the state for a chance to continue their DI journey at the global competition.
For the students involved, Destination Imagination is about much more than competition—it’s about building confidence, developing leadership skills, and learning how to think creatively to solve real-world challenges.
