Watertown sweeps Post 7 in season opener

WATERTOWN — Watertown recorded a doubleheader sweep against Huron Post 7 in an American Legion baseball doubleheader on Thursday.

The twinbill served as the season opener for Huron.

Watertown needed just five innings to get a 14-3 victory against Post 7 in the opening game.

Trace Wenz and Cooper Bischoff each a single and an RBI for Huron. Oakley Anderson also recorded an RBI.

Nolan Stahly and Chase Schuchardt shared the pitching duties for Post 7.

Watertown escaped with a 7-6 victory in the second game to collect the sweep.

Crayton Siedschlag had a pair of hits, including a two-run single, for Huron. Jeremy Hofer had a pair of hits and an RBI, while Parker Bischoff had two hits and Zach Scheer had a double.

Elijah Schreeve turned in a complete game on the mound for Post 7.

Huron will make its home debut with an 11 a.m., doubleheader against Yankton on Sunday at Klock Field.
