De Smet 74, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 43
DE SMET – The top-ranked De Smet Bulldogs got a huge performance from their biggest player as they defeated the Oldham-Ramona/Rutland Raiders 74-43 Saturday in De Smet in the regular season finale for both clubs.

The Bulldogs’ 6’7” sophomore center Damon Wilkinson led all scorers with 22 points while also grabbing 19 rebounds, blocking three shots, and swiping three steals on the night for De Smet.

Rett Osthus added 18 points for De Smet, who finishes 19-1 on the season, along with four assists and four steals while Cody Cavanaugh pitched in 13 points, including three 3-point baskets.

The Raiders finish even on the year at 10-10. Kenneth Lindholm led Oldham-Ramona/Rutland with 10 points and six rebounds.

The Bulldogs will host an opening round game in Region 3B on March 2.

Wessington Springs 67, James Valley Christian 31
WESSINGTON SPRINGS – After a competitive first half, the Wessington Springs Spartans outscored the James Valley Christian Vikings 39-9 in the second half to come away with a 67-31 victory Friday night in Wessington Springs.

Cooper Hainey led three Spartans in double figures with 17 points. Jacob Messmer dropped in 14 points and Tyler Kole added 10 points for Wessington Springs, now 15-4 on the year.

Messmer led Wessington Springs with nine rebounds.

James Valley Christian finished the regular season with a 2-17 record. Landon Wager led the Vikings with 13 points.

The Spartans close the season against Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Friday in Forestburg. The Vikings will be off until March 1, when they will open Region 3B play on the road.

North Central 55, Sunshine Bible Academy 33
ROSCOE – Down just two points at half, the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders fell short in a bid for their first victory of the season, falling in the season finale Friday night against the North Central Thunder in Roscoe, 55-33.

Grace Walz had a big game for the Thunder, who finished 9-11 on the year, with 18 points and 12 rebounds, both game-high totals. Krystal Geier added 12 points for North Central.

Sunshine Bible Academy finished the regular season winless at 0-16. Taylor Nelson led the team with 16 points.

The Crusaders will open postseason play on the road against Potter County tonight in Gettysburg.

CLARK – The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones had a first-half lead, but the Sisseton Redmen clawed back in the second half to claim a 59-52 victory Friday night in Clark

Chloe Langager scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace the Redmen, now 10-10 on the year. Hailey Nelson hit three 3-point baskets as part of 18 points for Sisseton.

Jada Burke led the Cyclones with 11 points and seven rebounds. Maggie Hovde added 10 points for Clark/Willow Lake, who finishes the year at 6-14.

Clark/Willow Lake will travel to Volga to take on Sioux Valley in the opening round of Region 2A on Tuesday.
