De Smet 48, Canistota 35
DE SMET – The top-ranked “B” team in the state, the De Smet Bulldogs, won their second game in a week over a fellow ranked school, defeating the fifth-ranked Canistota Hawks Saturday in De Smet by the score of 48-35.
Kalen Garry paced three Bulldogs in double figures in scoring with 13 points. Rett Osthus and Tory Holland each added 12 points as De Smet moved to 9-1 on the season.
Holland led the Bulldogs with 10 rebounds.
Cole Papendick led the Hawks with 13 points as they lost their first game of the season to fall to 6-1. Logan Katzer grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Canistota.
De Smet won the junior varsity game 39-19.
De Smet travels to Hayti to face Hamlin Tuesday.

Carter Comes led a quartet of Coyotes, now 5-3, in double figures with 22 points - while also snagging a game-high 12 rebounds, while Tanner Fonder knocked down 16 and both Aden Comes and Austin Appelhof chipped in 10.
Peyton Osborn led all scores with 27 points for the Pheasants, while Jaxson Frankenstein scored 18 points and claimed nine boards for Redfield.
The Pheasants, who fall to 6-2 with the loss, are back in action Tuesday night when they host Mount Vernon/Plankinton.

Girls
Jada Burke scored 15 points to pace the Cyclones to their second win in a row and a 2-6 record on the season. Charity Kabwe scored 12 points while Alicia Vig and Chayla Vig each scored 11 points for Clark/Willow Lake.
Burke topped the Cyclone rebounding totals with eight on the night.
Webster fell to 2-5 on the year despite strong games from Jaiden Bauer and Alivia Baumgarn, who scored 15 and 14 points, respectively. Cara Shoemaker led the Bearcats with eight rebounds.
The Cyclones host Great Plains Lutheran in Willow Lake tonight.
