Huron boys win big against Sturgis

Posted

HURON — Carlos Yanes scored four goals to lead the Huron Tigers’ boys’ soccer team to a 12-2 win over the visiting Sturgis Scoopers Saturday afternoon at Tiger Stadium.
Baht Eh Khin and Eduardo Trujillo each scored two goals for the Tigers.
“This game was a great confidence builder for us, right in the middle of our season,” said Huron coach Megan Wilson. “We were able to have a lot of players see action, and some who rarely get a chance to score did so today.”
Hsar Htoo, Ta Blue Are, Thai Say and Win Storm each scored solo goals for the Tigers.

Both Sturgis goals came on penalty kicks.
“We have been working on finishing, so this was a good game to prove that we have a lot of players who can step up and finish,” Wilson noted. “We have some big games that we must win coming up, so now it’s time to focus on those.”
The Huron girls’ team dropped a 3-0 decision to Sturgis Saturday morning at Tiger Stadium.
Both the boys’ and girls’ teams are back in action on Tuesday, when they travel to S.F. Washington.
