MILLER — It was a hot, humid, windless night at the Miller Central Speedway. The heat took a toll on the crowd and the car count, but the lack of wind kept the track in excellent shape. The evening was sponsored by Ellwein Brothers, the local Budweiser distributor and there were 59 cars on hand.
The Pump N Pak Pure Stocks were up first with Jordan Rawstern leading all the way and winning over Curtis Johnson and Mike Hammill. It was Rawstern’s 12th feature win at the speedway.
The WISSOTA Street Stocks were next with James Hoing leading from the pole position and fighting off the field through several restarts to win his first feature at the Miller Central Speedway over Broc Stout, Blayne Baloun, Zach Pollock and Cole Phillips.
FYI, James Hoing also has wins at Hartford and Wagner.
The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds rolled off 18 strong with Lorin Johnson moving from fifth position to take the win over Scott Hansen, Spence Pollock, Cory Berquist and Kyle Knouse. It was Johnson’s 77th Mid Mod feature win and his 125th overall feature win at the speedway.
The WISSOTA Modifieds were heat thinned like the Pure Stocks. Tyler McDonald led all the way over Alex Guthmiller, Nick Wranek and Lorin Johnson. It was Tyler’s 11th feature win at Miller.
The WISSOTA Super Stocks had Trevor Nelson and Cole Searing racing through the field to the front with Nelson winning over Searing. Casey Hanson, Kipp DeGroot and Jeremy North rounded out the top five. It was Trevor’s third feature win at the track.
The WISSOTA Late Models put on the race of the night. A three car spin on the first lap slowed things down, but David McDonald quickly went to the front from sixth. Brian Diede closed in and passed McDonald for the lead in turn three but a yellow nullified the pass and McDonald got the lead on the restart and promptly ran away from the field for his sixth Late Model feature win, followed by Diede, Curt Gelling, Mike Jager and Blair Nothdurft.
