Oahe wins against All-Stars in exhibition hockey matchup

HURON — A quick start helped the Oahe Capitals to a 5-3 victory in a an exhibition hockey game against the Huron All-Stars on Sunday at Bergman Arena.
The Capitals scored three of their goals in the opening period, including two on power plays.
Huron put the first goal on the board as Carson Duba scored on a pass from Rei Hoops at the 15:19 mark of the first period.
Oahe would need less than a minute to score its first goal as Riggs Sanchez scored on an unassisted shot.
The Capitals then took their first lead of the game at the 11:18 mark of the opening period as Clay Ambach scored on an unassisted shot during a power play to make it 2-1.
The All-Stars would even the score with a goal by Xavier Erickson on a pass from Spencer Busch with 6:15 to play in the first period.

Oahe would carry a 3-2 advantage into the second period, as Caden Davis scored with just 12 seconds remaining in the first period on a pass from Ambach. The goal came during a power play.
The scoring pace slowed in the second period, as the Capitals had the lone goal to stretch their lead to 4-2. Adam Ankrom found the net on a pass from Andy Gordon at the 7:57 mark.
Oahe used an unassisted shot by Ambach to make it 5-2 with 11:36 remaining in the game.
Huron would score the final goal as Busch scored on an unassisted shot during a power play at the 5:51 mark of the third period.
Tate Mueller collected the win as the goalie for the Capitals. He faced 29 shots and stopped 26 of them.
Huron goalie Jacob Wehde had 21 saves on 26 shots on goal.
