HURON — With the final of three goals in the opening half, O’Gorman inked a 2-1 victory against the Huron boys’ soccer team on Tuesday at Tiger Stadium.
The Knights put their first goal on the board in the 18th minute to snag the lead.
That lead was short-lived, however, as Huron evened things up just two minutes later.
Sha Sher scored for the Tigers on a pass from Lay Mwe Thaw in the 20th minute.
O’’Gorman would score the eventual game winner just before the end of the opening half in the 39th minute to take a 2-1 lead.
Neither team was able to find the net during the second half.
“The first half was a great game by both teams,” Huron coach Leah Branaugh said. “Aung Htoo and Lay Thaw really stepped up in the midfield and played a great first half.
“We had looks on the offensive end, but just didn’t connect and finish,” she said. “We continue to pass and move the ball well.”
Alex Bautista recorded nine saves in the net for the Tigers.
The final three games will be away games for Huron. Next up is a 4 p.m., game Thursday at Watertown.
“Our next games are all Eastern South Dakota Conference games and are a must win for us,” said Branaugh.
The two teams finished tied at 1-1 in the junior varsity game on Tuesday.
Say Heh had the goal fo the Tigers on a pass from Aung Myit. Micah Larson tallied six saves.
In the girls’ varsity game Tuesday, Watertown recorded a 10-0 win.
