BROOKINGS — Four area girls and two area boys earned berths in the Class B State Golf Tournament during the Region 2B Meet on Tuesday at Edgebrook Golf Course in Brookings.
Kennedy Ruml of De Smet and Jaycee Hohn of Wessington Springs recorded scores of 103 to finish eighth and ninth, respectively, in the girls’ division. AbbyRose Miller of James Valley Christian was 10th with a 105, while Chloe Munsen of Wessington Springs claimed spot No. 14 with a 119.
With three of the top four golfers in the meet, Deubrook Area won the Region 2B girls’ title with a score of 272. Courtni Frank was the medalist for Deubrook Area with an 87, while teammates Caitlyn Christianson and Maci Colberg wer second and fourth, respectively, with scores of 90 and 95.
Howard was second in the final team standings with 298, followed by Flandreau at 323, Wessington Springs at 345, De Smet at 360 and Sanborn Central-Woonsocket at 385.
