HURON — The Wessington Springs Lady Spartans are en route to play for fifth place in the 281 girls’ basketball tournament, after a smashing 59-21 victory over the Iroquois Lady Chiefs on Monday.
Wessington Springs improved their season record to 3-6, while the Lady Chiefs dropped to 0-11 on the season.
Two players landed double figures for the Lady Spartans, Grace Gran led the team with 19 points and six rebounds, while Cadee Schelske had 11.
Kaitlyn Maas led the Lady Chiefs with seven points and two assists, while Allie Diehl and Niah Rogers each added four more points.
Wessington Springs will be back in action to battle the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders on Thursday afternoon at the Huron Arena.
