MITCHELL — Katherine “Kay” Meyers, 93, formerly of Huron and Mitchell, died February 13, 2022, from complications due to
Alzheimer’s Disease.  

Katherine Skezas was born June 25, 1928 in Huron, the daughter of Christ and Beulah (Manolis) Skezas. 

Kay graduated from Huron High School in 1945 and then attended the University of South Dakota for two years.

She married Neil H. Meyers on January 12, 1951 in Huron.

Beginning in 1955, she worked at the Methodist Hospital in Mitchell as Administrative Assistant with responsibility for personnel and payroll.  Kay later completed her undergraduate work in Business Administration at Dakota Wesleyan University in 1977.

She is survived by her three children: Kristina Jenkins (Richard), Steven Meyers (Susie), and Tamara Tucker (Sean), grandchildren, great grandchildren, and brother George Skezas (Zelda). 
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister, Panayota (Nick) Karras.
