Expected wet weather brings July 4 activities changes

Posted

HURON — With a Fourth of July forecast that calls for rain, wind and more rain, some changes are taking place for the planned activities around Huron.

The Huron Chamber and Visitors Bureau sadly announces that the parade planned for July 4 has been cancelled, however the remainder of events will take place.

The vendor fair, BBQ and live music will move indoors to the Expo Building on the S.D. State Fairgrounds.

Due to construction taking place at the fairgrounds, please park on the east side of the Expo Building.

The vendor fair begins at 10 a.m. and the BBQ gets underway at 11 a.m.

There is a bouncy house and other kids activities planned at the Expo Building as well.

Fireworks that evening, at both Ravine Lake and Lake Byron, are still planned at 10 p.m.
