MITCHELL — Huron had a pair of golfers at the Mitchell Invitational on Friday at Lakeview Golf Course.

Jack Bales carded a 96 for the Tigers, while Ben Kleinsasser finished at 99.

Nick Bothun of Pierre and Charlie Swift of Harrisburg shared the top spot with scores of 68, while Asher Dannenbring of Mitchell and Carter Peterson of Brandon Valley were tied for third with scores of 69.

Rounding out the top five in the 120-golfer field, was Sawyer Sonnenschein of Pierre with a 71.

With three of the top 11 golfers, Pierre used a 286 to edge Brandon Valley by a stroke for the top spot in the final team standings. Mitchell was third at 297, followed by Harrisburg at 304. Sioux Falls Lincoln and Yankton finished with scores of 310, but Lincoln was awarded the fifth spot on a tiebreaker.

Huron will travel to play in the Watertown Invite on Tuesday.
