HURON — Brookings swept the Huron eighth-grade volleyball teams on Thursday.
The Bobcats used set scores of 25-15 and 25-15 to win the A-match.
Arian Pfitzer was 9 of 12 attacking with three kills to lead Huron. Jayla Schley had two kills on 3 of 3 hitting, while Autumn Seidschlag was 5 of 5 with a kill and Ramsey Rozell was 4 of 4 with a kill.
Schley and Pfitzer were both 5 of 6 serving with an ace for the Tigers. Rozell was 4 of 5, while Talley Hins was 4 of 6. Rozell also had a team-high six assists, while Pfitzer had two blocks and Schley had a block.
Brookings inked a win in the B-match with set scores of 25-13 and 25-9.
Andrea Estrada was 3 of 14 hitting with a kill for Huron, while Jesse Mattke was 1 of 2 with a kill.
Zemi Severence was 3 of 3 serving for the Tigers, while Estrada converetd on 3 of 4 serves. Lana Sharry was perfect on two serves with an ace.
The Bobcats claimed the C-match with set scores of 25-16 and 25-18.
Jazmin Clark was 2 of 2 spiking with a kill and was 2 of 2 serving for Huron.
Neveah Garcia was 8 of 9 serving with two aces, while Melanie Morales was 5 of 6 with an ace, Ovilla Mendanca was 4 of 6 with an ace and Eh Hter Say was 3 of 4 with an ace. Hser Htoo convertedon 4 of 5 serves.
Huron travels to play Yankton on Monday.
Huron vs. Pierre
PIERRE — The Huron eighth-grade volleyball teams swept Pierre on Monday.
Using set scores of 26-24 and 25-10, Huron won the A-match.
Arian Pfitzer had eight kills on 12 of 15 hitting to lead the Tigers. Jayla Schley had three kills on 5 of 6 spikes.
Autumn Siedschlag was 10 of 12 serving with five aces for Huron, while Schley had four aces on 9 of 11 serves. Ramsey Rozell was 8 of 9 with two aces, Cora Wilk was 7 of 9 with two aces and Pfitzer was 2 of 5 with an ace.
Rozell tallied seven assists, while Talley Hins and Zemi Severence had three and two assists, respectively.
Huron won the B-match with set scores of 25-10 and 25-16.
Severence and Andrea Estrada were both 5 of 5 hitting with three kills, while Laney Marshall also had three kills on 3 of 3 hitting.
Jesse Mattke had 5 aces on 5 of 6 serving for the Tigers. Severence was 9 of 10 with three aces and had a team-high six assists, while Nevaeh Garcia was 6 of 7 with three aces.
Huron won the C-match with set scores of 25-15 and 25-20.
Melanie Morales had five aces on 11 of 12 serving for the Tigers. Garcia was perfect on nine serves with four aces, while Jazmine Clark inked four aces on 7 of 7 serving.
Seventh grade
Brookings won three matches against the Huron seventh-grade volleyball teams on Thursday.
The Bobcats won the A-match with set scores of 25-15 and 25-13.
Alyssa Urena was 4 of 5 serving with an ace for the Tigers. Arianna James and Bricia Miller were both 3 of 5 serving with an ace.
Lylli Hofer was 5 of 6 hitting with two kills for Huron, while James had a kill on 7 of 12 hitting and Sofialin Lian was 2 of 2 with a kill.
Brookings claimed the B-match with set scores of 25-17 and 25-11.
Amari Greene was 8 of 9 serving with an ace for the Tigers. Wendy Hae and Tiana Parker were both 3 of 4 serving, while Adalyn Cunard was 2 of 3 and Maddie McGaugh was 2 of 2.
The Bobcats won the C-match 25-9 and 25-12.
Parker was 6 of 8 serving with three aces for Huron, while Lay Htee was perfect on four serves with an ace. Grace Htoo was 2 of 3 serving.
Huron will travel to play Yankton on Monday.
Huron vs. Pierre
Pierre won two of three matches against the Huron seventh-grade volleyball team on Monday.
The Lady Govs won 25-12 and 25-12 in the A-match.
Bricia Miller had four aces on 9 of 9 serving for Huron. Sofialin Lian was 5 of 5 serving, while Lylli Hofer was 3 of 3 with an ace.
Arianna James tallied three kills on 6 of 9 hitting for the Tigers, while Hofer was 4 of 5 with two kills.
Pierre claimed the B-match with set scores of 25-23 and 25-17.
Amari Greene was 7 of 11 serving with two aces for Huron. Wendy Hae was 6 of 7 with an ace, while Maddie McGaugh was 3 of 4 with an ace.
McGaugh also was 2 of 2 hitting with a kill for the Tigers.
Huron’s lone win came in the C-match, where it won with set scores of 25-20 and 25-22.
Tiana Parker had 11 aces on 13 of 16 serving to lead the Tigers. Grace Htoo had four aces on 9 of 11 serves and Lay Htee had three aces on 6 of 7 serves.
Ayla Knutson and Gracie Feldhaus each had an ace.
