Clark's Wookey wins title during SDGA Junior Tour event

HURON — Kaden Wookey of Clark won the boys’ division for ages 14-15 during the South Dakota Golf Association Junior Tour event on Wednesday at Broadland Creek Golf Course.

Wookey carded an 81 to claim the top spot, while Seth Hettick of Roscoe, Chase McQuirk of Oacoma and Larz Tvedt of Castlewood shared the second spot with scores of 82. Kaiden Weinreis of Doland was eighth at 89.

Logan Borns of Clark was second in the boys’ division for ages 10-11. He shot a 37 through nine holes to match the score post by Keegan Rachetto of Rapid City, who won the event.

Jake Pugh of Miller was fifth in the boys’ division for ages 10-11 with a 44.

Bailey Brueggeman and Tayler Brueggeman of Miller were second and third, respectively, in the girls’ division for ages 14-15, with scores of 105 and 125. Delaney Johnson of Aberdeen won the division with a 100.

Kooper Wookey of Clark used an 89 to finish fourth in the boys’ division for ages 12-13. He was eight strokes off the pace of Rigley Kulesa of Pierre, who won the division.

Kash Pugh of Miller tallied a 63 through nine holes to earn a fifth-place finish in the boys’ 9-and-under division. Trigg Haiar of Winner was the top golfer in the division with a 49.

Other division winners on Wednesday were Faith Roehrich of Watertown with a 95 (girls 12-13); Everett Morison of Mitchell with a 71 (boys 16-18); Chloe Vikander of Aberdeen with a 101 (girls’ 16-18); Zoey Zeigler of Winner with a 75 (girls 9-and-under); and Leni Mack of Watertown with a 59 (girls 10-11).
