Huron baseball closes out tourney with victory

YANKTON — The Huron 16U Tigers were able to finish a weekend at the Daryl Bernard 16U Classic at Riverside Park in Yankton with a victory Sunday.
Huron faced the host Yankton Blacksox. Huron put up a pair of runs to jump out to a first-inning lead and never trailed the rest of the way, adding on multiple runs in two other innings for an 8-6 win.
Cooper Bischoff opened the game on the mound. He tossed 3 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on two hits and eight walks, striking out five. Elijah Shreeve allowed three runs over three innings on five hits, striking out four. Carter Porisch got the final out of the game for Huron.
Anderson Porisch reached base four times with a single and three walks. Bischoff had a double, a walk, and stole a base.
Nolan Stahly had a pair of singles and two steals. Shreeve added a pair of singles. Gavin Waldner walked twice and had a pair of steals. Carter Porisch walked twice and stole a base.
After going 2-2 over the tournament, Huron takes a 7-6 record into a road doubleheader today in Aberdeen, beginning at 3 p.m.
